Highlights
Player of the Week: nYqGemini
Introduction
Since the group stages Gemini has been tearing through the KASL. He beat everyone in his group without dropping a single game and then advanced to the Championship Bracket and beat xDoomXBlood in the round of 16. In Ro8 he faced RayRay and the most anticipated match of the week and beat him 2:0. So far no one has been able to stop or even slow down the wrath of Gemini.
Gemini in the Group Stages
Gemini’s group consisted of three diamonds Jimp, Shizxdiz, and DrMoose, along with a gold player, XxXxX. As of now none of the diamonds are that accomplished. They have no results, but they are still diamond players. Gemini was able to crush all of them. The group stage went exactly how he thought it was going to. I had talked to him before the group stages started, trying to work out some issues with his vacation. His prediction of the group stages follows...
Gemini vs RayRay
As the most anticipated an exciting series in Ro8 this match was streamed, however due to the hurricane I was out of power and unfortunately missed it. Met-Ed hurting E-Sports!!! However I was able to watch the replays to see the games. Game one was on Shakuras Plateau and Gemini opened with a forge fast expand like most Protoss do on this map. Ray opened with an aggressive Zergling Infestor composition and attempted to break Gemini’s ramp, however a few well placed storms completely wrecked Ray’s army leaving him at a severe disadvantage.

He wasn’t out of the game yet though so RayRay responded by double expanding to try to catch up and surpass Gemini economically. Gemini pushed forward with a large amount of blink stalkers as well as some high templar which stormed the shit out of what little support units Ray had for his Infestors. Gemini was then able to kill Ray’s third base while taking one of his own. RayRay’s forth base remained unscouted. Gemini had a large army lead and in the next battle rolled over RayRay to take the first game.
The second game was on Xel’Naga fortress. Since it lacks a sufficient choke point for forge fast expand Gemini decided it would be safer to wall off in his main and expand later. RayRay wanted to try to get a quick win with a Roachling allin to take it to game three, however with a good simcity and forcefileds Gemini was able to hold off the aggression with the loss of a few pylons. RayRay had planned to get out some banelings and try to bust Gemini again, but he was too busy fucking himself to remember to spawn a baneling nest.

The rest is pretty predictable. Two base Protoss > two base Zerg. Gemini pushed with a large blink stalker build and won the game. Personally I thought RayRay was gonna win the series and then was shocked that he lost without winning a single game. He’ll now have to climb the losers bracket while Gemini advances.
Next Match: Gemini vs Texmix
Gemini will be facing Texmix next week and whoever advances will go to the winner’s bracket final and by doing so will finish the tournament with no lesser than a third place finish. This is a very important match indeed! In a previous interview Gemini expressed concerns with facing Texmix. Texmix has knocked Gemini out of several Armory tournaments before but none with as much epeen at stake as this one. Personally I think Gemini will win. Texmix has beaten him in the past, but there is evidence Tex’s pvp has been slipping as he won against Dark Lord, a diamond scrub, by a very small margin. RayRay described the series as the best pvp in the KASL so far. Well we’re about to have another pvp. Will this one be better? Find out next week!
Parting Words
The end of the road is nearing. Will Gemini have what it takes to become the first King of the Armory or will he always be remembered for failing to beat 2weak letting the whole armory down? Be sure to watch and find out!!! One last thing...

Interviews
Effervescent interviews ppgWIZARD
Effie: Today I am here with the one and only WIZARD. How are you doing today Wizzy? ^^
Wizard: so far I'm doing great, I got a new comp! omg! I never thought it would ever come
Effie: Finally, you got your new computer. So when will you be Grandmaster?
Wizard: I will be grandmaster by tomorrow!
Effie: So what's the competition been like so far in the KASL?
Wizard: competition has been pretty good, everything seems to be going pretty smooth after those rayray matches, I'm vsing nighthawk this week so I gotta get used to this mouse and comp asap. But yeah not much resistance, until I face gem or funky
Effie: Yeah, those matches should be exciting to watch. So what can you tell me about Nighthawk? Are you going to 2-0 him EZ? ^o^
Wizard: ofc (I dunno what to say!)
Effie: WELL COME UP WITH SOMETHING. Think harder
<
Wizard: Nighthawk is going down!!! I HOPE IS GONNA BE STREAMED CUZ IM GONNA MAKE SURE HE PULLS A CRAZYGITAR AFTER OUR MATCHES
Effie: ;o When are you playing Nighthawk?
Wizard: OMG BETTER QUESTIONS!
Effie: NO ANSWER THE QUESTION DODGER.
Wizard: I don't wanna bash on nighthawk he is a cool guy!< but anyways!!!!!!!!!!! I just got this comp, I feel like I am at diamond level atm, everything feels so weird.
Effie: You're weird
What matchup would you say is your weakest vs. Terran?
Wizard:
Probably protoss vs. terran, those drops make me do this @ 1:31 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4mdmWs1SfuY
Effie: Do you listen to black metal when you play your games?
Wizard: Black Metal is sacred music to me, I do not play traditional black metal anywhere but in a solicit place, I don't tend to listen to music but when I do its Industrial genre music, since industrial rules and is 100x better than dubstep, dubstep is a noob genre made for stoner college kids to listen to and somehow it got infected into the gaming scene which was like wtf >> but overall that's ok, it keeps the noobs away from the good music
Wizzy rants about dubstep
Effie: So tell us what strategies you plan to use against teh Noobhawk.
Wizard: If noobhawk reads this, Zerg = 11 hatch mass roach ling, Terran = Standard macro play, Protoss= 1 gate expo or 4 gate
Effie: Who do you want to be matched up against the most and who do you dread being matched up against?
Wizard: Well I am looking forward to facing gem since he is a pretty cool guy and I dread being matched up against rayray because he mind games have trolled me so hard that I have trouble making buildings. rayray does like 1 base roach stuff, and then this like 2 base mass bane bust, or this super fast infestor play. It's like, omg! I don't know how he does it but it works and it ruined game play sometimes. Like he should be behind, and I'm building the counter and he still breaks or comes out ahead.
Effie: We have a question from Gemini: he wants to know why you like fapping so much.
Wizard: OMG IS THAT A SERIOUS QUESTION. Fapping helps me empower my magic since I am a wizard. There is no sorcery rejuvenation like fapping. Every wizard should know this.
Effie: WHAT THE **** DID I JUST READ. Le sigh, it's ok Wizzy you don't need to fap cuz you have super sexy cougar lady.
Wizard: I know! I don't fap that much anymore cuz I have lady!
Effie: This one's from the lovely Rusty: "ask him why he always fools around with zerg, even though it's his main race. Also why does the three game u did random that I watched, u always got zerg?"
Wizard: Zerg seems to be my most unstable yet best race, I never really have a standard, I just try to macro hard and overpower with units, expand macro, expand macro, but now that I have a nice computer and I won't lag in big battles I can add mutas to this build or more micro oriented stuff like bane drops or burrow banes or infestors, I am very excited to see what I can do with 11 hatch non-A move builds, but if I feel that the A move builds are stronger ill stick to 11 hatch swarm style.
Effie: Is there anything else you want to add?
Wizard: I would like to thank you Effie for the interview!! and I would like to give a shout out to Effervescent for cheering me on to get to GM , imma try hard! lol tytyty
Effie: You are the sweetest. We'll all be rooting for you Wizzy!
Play hard or go home.
Wizard: 11 hatch or die trying =D
Wizard: so far I'm doing great, I got a new comp! omg! I never thought it would ever come

Wizzy rants about dubstep
Wizard: you don't know how sad it is , watching kids on their laptops or iPods getting Pandora for dubstep, it's like, "dude you have no taste, you just Pandora for dubstep I bet u were never into dub, you just jumped into the band wagon, and the theme is nonsense, got if I was ever on drugs and someone blasted that I would just rage quit because it's a waste of a good high
certain music can only be understood but drugs, but honestly, dubstep is a poor excuse for that
*I don't necessarily do drugs with music anymore but when I did it was fine until someone put dubstep at a party . like hip-hop is so much better and more better for parties, it makes sense and the theme fits the environment, but dubstep is just like a bunch of bzzzzzwubwubwubwubwubbzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz wub wub wub wub chrchrchrc wub wub wub wub wub
Effie: LOL
wubwubuwbuwbuwub
I actually like dub
but I'm not retarded
sooooo
yeah
Wizard: Pandora + Dubstep + Weed = I have no sense style, I am just a complete follower of a horrible stoner movement
Effie: So tell us what strategies you plan to use against teh Noobhawk.

Effervescent interviews texmix.708
Effie: Hello, today I am interviewing Texmix who 2-0'ed Jimp in the KASL RO8, Winner's Bracket. How are you doing, Tex?
Texmix: It's a bit soon to say. How are you?
Effie: I'm doing well, thank you. So tell me about your PvP matches against Jimp; how were you feeling before going into the game?
Texmix: Hungry and Hostile. I was delaying my dinner while Jimp finished a match and spent about 15 minutes updating myself on the recent Crimes of Qaddafi. Then he tried to cheese me in match 1.
Effie: How did you manage to stop his cheese? (Or should we watch the replay for this answer?)
Texmix: He did a 2gate proxy and I replied with a forge/cannon walloff of my main. As a small faction of this readership may be aware, I am moderately familiar with most varietals of protoss cheese and it was a fairly easy victory.
Effie: Well, that's certainly a warning for any protosses you may face next. What were you expecting from Jimp in the second game?
Texmix: I believe it was George Bernard Shaw who said "Crude Generalizations and classifications are the curse of a good life". In a series I find it best not to enter a match with expectations, and play each game as if it's the first. Excepting DCRodrigo, all players are capable and willing to use a wide variety of strategies, especially in a volatile matchup like PvP.
Effie: Well-put, Tex. Which brings me to my next question; would you consider PvP your weakest matchup, strongest, or somewhere in between?
Texmix: At the moment I'm playing all 3 matchups about the same. A month ago pvt was my strongest because the 1gate fast expand build I use was not as common. PvP has always been my most frustrating- it's the matchup where silvers can occasionally beat diamonds and diamonds care spar with top masters. Even ZvZ is no longer as volatile as pvp.
Effie: Yeah, I agree. There are so many things you need to scout for in a PvP, especially early game. So Tex, in the previous interview with Gemini and FarmerPoopy, he said that he was most nervous about facing you in the finals. Are you also tentative about facing Gem, or are you hoping to match up against him?
Texmix: Gemini and I played a bo11 match almost a year ago of which I barely got the best of him. Since that time, I unfortunately must admit, he has progressed faster than me. I'd prefer more pvt or pvz matches going forward, but if I face Gemini the mind games and nature of pvp will make it anyone’s match. I'll most likely go fast dt's every game.
Effie:
Well we'll see what Gemini thinks of that. Okay, are you looking forward to facing anyone in particular in the finals? If you make this answer a novel, so help me Texmix, I will probably fall asleep.
Texmix: stormguy85- that guy is a weirdo
Effie: Yeah, I'm going to have to agree with you there.
Okay one word answers, ready set go: Have you been enjoying the KASL thus far?
Texmix: Essentially.
Effie: Are you surprised you made it this far?
Texmix: Negative.
Effie: I am grudgingly asking the next 5 or so questions because Texmix is old. Who is your favorite character in history?
Texmix: Jefferson.
Effie: Who is your favorite musician?
Texmix: Rachmaninoff.
Effie: Favorite painter?
Texmix: Goya.
Effie: What is your favorite flower?
Texmix: Garlic.
Effie: What is your favorite bird?
Texmix: Owl
Effie: And I think that should do it. Any last words or messages or shout-outs?
Texmix: In 2006 I was in the audience during this random, and not particularly popular debate, and it had a great impact on me. I suggest it to anyone with a half hour to spare (3 parts): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X3Hg-Y7MugU
Effie: Annnd that should conclude this interview. Thanks for nearly putting me to sleep and for your time Texmix, and good luck in your future matches!
Texmix: I've bed many girls, sorry you were only nearly there.
Texmix: It's a bit soon to say. How are you?
Effie: I'm doing well, thank you. So tell me about your PvP matches against Jimp; how were you feeling before going into the game?

Hyren interviews Stebo.627
Hyren: Stebo I'm interviewing you
stop being afk!
Stebo: lol. **** sorry. I was napping
Hyren: ERHERM. Your opponent in the loser's bracket is Hyren, what can you tell me about him?
Stebo: is this a serious interview?
Hyren: YES
Stebo: Hyren has a lot going for him. I've seen him play and execute some pretty good builds as Terran. However, I don't see him online a lot so I doubt he has much practice and experience.
Hyren: Rumor has it that he had a smurf GM account last season. Your thoughts?
Stebo: Hyren is a sneaky snake, so I wouldn't be surprised.
Hyren: Very true, very true...
Stebo: Indeed
Hyren: Ok, the question you knew was coming: Team Edward or Team Jacob?
Stebo: Team Edward all the way. I'm into that sparkly ****. Haters gonna hate.
Hyren: Has your affiliation with Team Edward caused any friction with Eugene aka "Bruslee" aka "Darkn3ss"?
Stebo: Certainly has. Eugene's been leaving dead bats on my door step since last month has constantly been glueing pubic hair to his body to give him that Werewolf apperance. I can't keep up with the competition.
Hyren: A tragic tale to be sure.
Stebo: Yeah. He also called me a ***.
Hyren: There are quite a few strong players in the winner's bracket. Who will win the championship and why?
Stebo: Hmmm... I have some people I want to see win. The match up I'm really looking forward to is Gemini vs stormguy (Rayray)...I feel that who wins that match will go on to win the tournament.
Hyren: Strong candidates indeed. Do you have any map-specific strategies for this round? 4-gate on Backwate Gulch? Nexus first on Crevasse perhaps?
Stebo: There is so much dept I can give to answer this question. I've been recently praciticing over the past few months my Protoss and I can assure you that I have some tricks up my sleeve. However, because Hyren is a sneaky snake, I will not be realeasing any further information at this time, simply because I will be playing vs him next.
Hyren: Nighthawk is the only remaining Terran in the winner's bracket. Terran underpowered amiright? Buff marines?
Stebo: Thors need to be launching nukes, Marines should be free, and Mules should have no time duration so they last forever. 'Nought said.
Hyren: Sounds like a good place to start in any case. Well that just about wraps up this interview. Any final comments?
Stebo: Yeah I gotta go take a ****. Thanks for your time though.
^^ oi
Hyren: Ah, one more thing. Our viewers have all been asking the same question: "What does ^^ oi mean?"
*Stebo's lawyers start rising from their chairs in protest*
Stebo: If Hyren beats me in the tournament, I'll tell the entire community.
*Stebo's lawyers die*
Hyren:Thank you for your time, Stebo. Enjoy your bathroom break.
Stebo: Thank you Hyren.
