StarCraft 2 Beta : The Beginnings

Recently one of my friends was lucky enough to get into the Beta and has been tearing up the Silver league on the new Battle.Net 2.0.  Also, lucky for me, he is going to be insanely busy with school the next few weeks with projects and finals so he has been gracious enough to allow me to use his beta key in the mean time.  I have only played a total of about 8 hours so far but here are some things I have noticed so far (these are just thoughts and opinions of one player so please keep that in mind as this game is still very new).

: In SC2 Nukes are very easy to get in the tech tree and are much cheaper than SC1.  I'm surprised I haven't seen more people using these since they can do a lot of damage and are quite fun to use.  I think that this tactic will be a devastating tool in the hands of a skilled pro-gamer.  These are great for breaking down an enemy blockade or taking out all the mineral workers at an expo while a major battle is happening somewhere else on the map.  I have gotten a few Nukes off successfully and if you can do it right they pay off with interest.
So far I haven't played any of the other races against other players so I can't offer up much on those.  I will say that Roaches don't seem as overpowered as everyone said they were.  As Terran they are easily handled with Marines and Marauders, especially if you have Stim Pack researched.  That being said I have had a couple of struggles that I am trying to figure out.

Against Zerg if they go mass Mutalisks this can be very difficult to counter.  I faced down a large army of Mutalisks and Hydras with Marauders, Thors, Marines and Medivacs and got my behind handed to me.  Perhaps my micro was bad or I just didn't have enough units but this has happened to me a couple of times and I can't seem to figure it out.  Against Protoss it seems that Void Rays are very difficult to deal with.  Even my army of 25 - 30 marines with Stim and a Medivac had trouble dealing with the group of 6 Void Rays sieging my base.  With how much damage these can do in a short time you need to react quickly to this or you will find yourself without a CC or tech tree in a very short period of time.

Of course all of this information is only from a very limited period of gameplay compared to people that have been in the beta since day 1 but hopefully I'll catch up soon enough!  Hope you all enjoyed reading and I will be posting some VODs soon hopefully of some of the games I play along with commentary so I'll let you know when those start going up.  Hope to see you all online soon!  GG.
