ESL Announces Weekly Starcraft 2 Tournament: Go4SC2
Posted by Lipton on March 29th, 2010 filed in StarCraft NewsAccording to my PR contact, Julia Christophers:
We start a new, regular cup series - Go4SC2! Each week at ESL there will be €100 at stake and points will be assigned to the best players. At the end of a month the most successfull players will compete for €500 at the monthly final. On every Saturday the Top16 players will receive points and the winner will receive additional €100. The final of the Saturday Cup will be played on Monday live on ESL TV.
Furthermore there will a second cup each week on Wednesday, where the Top3 can grab some more points. The monthly final will take place on the last Thursday of each month. The final will consist of eight players, who gathered the most points during the weekly cups. They will compete for €500 live on ESL TV. Points will be given out for all recently played cups.
*** Players may come from any country, as long as they have an EU Account. ***
That last part will be tricky if you're not from the EU. Players wising to participate in the tournament are asked to borrow someone's key. If this attempt fails or you don't know anyone, you can then write to ESL and they will attempt to arrange an EU beta key for you. I'm not sure about any sort of restrictions that would apply but it seems like a cool idea. You can sign up here or read more info here.
