Starcraft to Starcraft 2 – The Next Generation

All things fear time. I have seen many generations of games in my day and they all suffer from the human condition. One day they will die and their offspring shall take their stead.

Starcraft was unique to me in that it seemed to be the exception to that rule. Despite the progression of time and technology, Starcraft remained a constant. Many can recall the days when they played Starcraft, but I can't remember the day I stopped. I have grown older and wiser since the day I began playing it, but there is still a love for that game that lingers.
Starcraft 2 certainly has much to live up to. The original contained all the elements of a perfect game: an engrossing story, a constantly changing and evolving multiplayer, a dedicated staff supporting it, and the love of a community of gamers the likes of which the world has never seen before. I know that Starcraft 2 will be a different game. I look forward to the new units, visuals, story, and gameplay, but what I really look forward to is all the new memories and good times the game will bring. If it can do that one simple thing for me and the millions of other fans out there waiting anxiously, then Blizzard has got another perfect game...
I thank Starfeeder for the opporunity to go to Blizzcon '09, and just for giving an audience.
